Best Academic Input (Syllabus) in Petroleum Management to SPM
School of Petroleum Management’ has been conferred a national level for ‘Best Academic Input (Syllabus) in Petroleum Management’, by the ‘19th Business School Affaire BSA’ & ‘Devang Mehta Business School Award’ Mumbai. The award is in recognition of leadership, development, innovation and industry interface of School of Petroleum Management.
Professor Sudhir Yadav received the award at the award ceremony held in Mumbai on 26th of November 2011.

SPM-PDPU's Mukund wins All India Summer Project Competition
PDPU’s School of Petroleum Management (SPM) 2nd year student Mukund Upadhyay was declared the All India Winner in the recently held ‘Best Summer Project Contest’ organized by the prestigious Institute of Management Consultants of India (www.imcindia.co.in) at Mumbai. The event was sponsored by TCS.
Mukund and his classmate Saurabh Kothari had undergone their Summer Internship at Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) during the summer of 2011. They had worked on a project entitled “New Application of Natural Gas: CNG as marine fuel” under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Wagle (Vice President – Commercial) and Mr. Gyanendra K. Sharma (Deputy General Manager - Commercial) at MGL. Dr. Pramod Paliwal, Professor at SPM was the academic mentor for the project.
Five finalists were shortlisted from among several teams from across India who competed in the pre-final round. SPM-PDPU’s Mukund emerged as the winner in the final round that had finalists from Sydenhem Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai; L. N. Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai, Bharathidasan Institute of Management – Tiruchirappalli & T. A. Pai Management Institute – Manipal.
The jury for the final event was as follows:
› Ms. Shalini Kamath, Managing Director - Corporate Communications & Human Resources Ambit Holdings Pvt Ltd, Ambit House,
› Mr. Satnam Singh Sethi, Chief Operating Officer MahaOnline Limited, Mumbai (A Joint Venture of GoM and TCS)
› Mr. Anurag Adlakha, Chief Financial Officer – India & South Asia Standard Chartered Bank
Mukund received a cash prize of Rs. 30000/- and SPM shall house the IMCI running shield for next one year.
The jury was praiseworthy of Mukund's professional work and SPM's academic initiatives in the energy sector.
