FLARE 2016

Flare is the annual socio-cultural Fest of PDPU, held during 15th April to 17th April 2016. Flare 2016 was proved to be another stepping stone for student activity in PDPU with a participation of more than 1000 students all over Gujarat. The three-day Fest ival attracted more than 3000 people on campus proving the theme of ‘Carnival’. The Fest is a mark of the end of an academic year is an explosion of madness, the icebreaker for talent holders, a weekend of vitality.

Flare 2016 got a head start by the music launch of Flare theme song by Offbeat (The Music Club). To continue the vibes of the Fest PDPU had Pre- Flare events like performance by Dr. N. Rajam under SPIC MACAY PDPU Chapter, Antakshari, Street Jamming and a lot more.

On 15th, April 2016, the first of the Fest started with an event for all the theatre lovers- Emotions followed by competitions like spell bee, art triathlon, ready steady pakao and ended with the major attraction of the day Amethyst (Fashion Show) and Ablaze (National Level Dance Competition)

Following day continued the zealous vibration of dance events by opening the day with Zest (Solo and Duet dance competition). Sand art workshop, Anand Mela, Anguish, You vs Yourself were the events followed the day. And after all the hip and happening of the day At-mosh-sphere, for all the music fanatics which was judged by a Mumbai based band Joshish.

On the third day- 17th April 2016, Melodia (Music Competition) and Aahvaan (Street Play Competition) built up the energy and spark of the day. Pronite – Last event of the Last day is the most awaited event. After the enthralled show by Sonu Nigam in FLARE’15, the Fest witness virtuoso- Sunidhi Chauhan. The Fest ’s exceptional features were informal events like Tasveer-E-Shayari, Zorbing, Tic Tac Toe, Shooting, Gully Cricket, Bull Riding, Balls into Glasses etc. The Flare Radio by official Music club – Off beat was another unique feature of Flare 2016. Video Graphic Association – Movie making club of PDPU brought in new concept to popularize events by creating VLOGs meaning Video Blog, which an overwhelming response.
