Whether in a classroom, laboratory, workshop or studio, PDPU research programs are known for their commitment to inquiry, innovation, community service, and creativity.It intends to broaden the opportunities for students and professionals to develop core subject knowledge which are duly complemented by various research interventions, thereby helping the students to make a mark in the global arena.For development of its students, faculties and staff the University endeavors for various Joint Exchange and Research programs.
Government of India, Ministry of Science and Technology, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research has accord recognition to Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), Gandhinagar as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO). On receiving this recognition PDPU is entitle to all such administrative support from the Ministry of Science and Technology (DSIR) as may be required on all issues to promote or encourage scientific research activities. Also the University will be entitled to avail the custom/ excise duty exemption on the import of equipments, instruments, spares thereof, consumables etc.
DSIR, a Government of India body that undertakes promotion of research and transfer of technology to India, carries out thorough evaluation of the R&D unit and ensures compliance with all the Government of India regulations before awarding renewals. The recognition and duty waiver is awarded every three years.
Research Integrity & Compliance is a broad category of ideas for the ethical conduct of research. This includes Research Compliance with state and central government regulations including requirements for sound fiscal management. The Compliance also includes in terms of policy of funding agencies, environment compliance, and norms of the university.
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs provides, to entire PDPU fraternity, support for the free and responsible conduct of investigative, scholarly and creative activities at Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar. The Office of Research & Sponsored Programs offers support from the initial stages of proposal development to grants management, publication and the transfer of technology. We provide internally funded grants, pre-award and post-award support for externally funded grants and offer education and support information on grant compliance and the responsible conduct of research.

The objective of this Student Research Project Financial Assistance to carry out research projects by PDPU students. This scheme aims to encourage research & innovation among the PDPU fraternity.
Any full time student who is currently studying & fulfilling the following eligibility criteria at PDPU can apply for financial assistance under this scheme.
There should be no backlog at the time of submission of proposal (For All the team members).
All the students should have maintained minimum 80% attendance before the application for all their studies & during the project period.
A research topic of high quality, originality and relevance.
Research topic to cover thematic and basic areas of topical and mutual interest for student & faculty members.
Type and Extent of Funding by PDPU
Subject to availability of funds, student projects will be eligible for a minimum grant of Rs.5, 000/- and maximum of Rs.250,000/-. The proposal for financial assistance will be screened and approved by the duly constituted committee, which will subsequently be sanctioned by the DG, PDPU.
Funding is generally granted for one year.
Proposals will be considered on basis of peer-reviews conducted both in Internal & External Reviewer towards Award.

While this progress has contributed to economic development in the country, a large segment of the population still lacks access to modern and clean sources of energy.
Renewable Energy, in India’s context, is significant for enhancing energy security through diversification of fuel sources and thereby reducing dependence on fossil fuels, sustainable and environmentally efficient growth and for overcoming power shortages in the country.
