Mr. Jwngsar Brahma is working as assistant lecturer
in the School of Petroleum Technology (SPT). He joined
the institute in 31 july 2009. He holds M.Sc. in Applied
Mathematics from Tezpur University, Tezpur, Assam in
2007 and M.Tech. in Computational Seismology from Tezpur
University, Tezpur in 2009. He is well exposed to various
mathematical and seismological software packages like
MATLAB, Grapher, Origin, Surfseis, SeisImager/2DTM,
SEISAN, SAC, JSesame, Scream etc. He had several government
scholarships during his academic career including scholarship
from DST Govt. of India in M.Tech studies. He completed
his M.Tech project in the area of “ Multi-Channel
Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) Technique and its application”.
During M.Tech dissertation he was estimating the site
response of the Gandhinagar city using engineering seismograph
upto 30 meter depth. In that estimation he had used
the Multi-channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) technique
and the data were collected from 14 sites of the Gandhinagar
city using engineering seismograph.
Field Experience:
I have participated the in following field works with
the team of scientists of “Institute of Seismological
Research”, Gandhinagar
• Data acquisition of MASW survey during M.Tech
dissertation in the
Gandhinagar City, Gujarat.
• Data acquisition of Refraction survey during
M.Tech dissertation in the
LNG-GSPC project site at Mundra, Gujarat.
Training:
I have participated following training at “Institute
of seismology research”, Gandhinagar (Gujarat)
• Familiarity with real time Seismic data analysis
using Seisan and Scream
Software.
• Experienced in Real Time Earthquake Monitoring.
• Refraction and Multi-channel Analysis of Surface
Waves (MASW) Data
processing and analysis using SeisImager,
SurfSeis tools.
My project titled as:
Multi-Channel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) Technique
and its application”.
Specialization:
NSDE and Earthquake Engineering.
Research Interest:
Engineering Seismology. Computational Seismology, Seismic Prospecting & Signal Processing and Seismic Velocity Modeling.
