Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University was established in 2007 by the Gujarat State Legislature Act. PDPU started with a 52 acres campus in Gandhinagar and has expanded to around 100 acres of land. The university addresses the need for trained and specialized human resources for Oil & Gas Industry worldwide.

It intends to expand the opportunities for students and professionals to develop intellecutual knowledge base with leadership skills to compete in the global arena. This objective is being addressed through a number of specialized and well planned undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate energy education programs and intensive research initiatives.

A research led university; PDPU intends to produce high quality managers, scientists, engineers, technologists, innovators and entrepreneurs.
